1970년도, 카르카시 고전

기타합주단으로 창단하여 1990 리여석 기타 오케스트라로 명칭을 바꾸고 다양한 합주용 키타로

재편성하였다

이때부터 리여석 키타오케스트라는 국내뿐만 아니라 외국으로 그 활동 범위를 넓혔고 국제적인

연주 단체의 길을 걷게 되었다

2001년 예술의전당 콘서트홀에서 한국 최초로 국제 기타페스티벌을 개최하여

한국 기타음악 발전에 큰 획을 그었다
